Does this keep the GIF animation?

Understanding the two formats
GIF — GIF. GIF is an old format limited to 256 colours per frame, which makes it poor for photographs but historically popular for simple animations. For a still image it has been comprehensively surpassed by PNG (for graphics) and WebP (for size), so converting a GIF frame to a modern format almost always gives a smaller, better-looking result.
JPG — JPEG. JPEG is the universal photo format — nearly 30 years old and readable by every device, browser and app on earth. It uses lossy compression that is superb for photographs, keeping files small while looking clean, which is why cameras and phones default to it. Its weaknesses are that it cannot store transparency and it adds visible halos around sharp text and hard edges, so it is a poor choice for logos, screenshots and line art.
