AVIF — AVIF. AVIF is a newer format based on the AV1 video codec, and it usually produces the smallest files of any common format at a given quality, with excellent colour and high-dynamic-range support. Its limitation is maturity: support in older browsers, editors and upload systems is still catching up, so it is not yet as universally accepted as JPG or WebP.
WEBP — WebP. WebP is a modern format from Google that supports both lossy and lossless modes, transparency and even animation.
